September Favourites
This month seems to have flown by so fast it doesn't seem like it has been a month at all! Over the summer I didn't wear much makeup at all, mostly because of the heat and that any makeup I did wear seemed to melt of my face and would result in me taking it off. However now the weather is cooler and my makeup stays on my face I have been wearing more. So on to my favourites for this month.
Essie - we're in it together
This was featured in my nails of the day post. I really love this colour, it is a light pink with a glitter like shimmer and I think it is so pretty.
Maybelline gel eyeliner
I have used this eyeliner almost everyday. This was also in my Maybelline mini haul. I have it in brown as it is then easier to wear for an everyday look. I love how easy it is to apply compared to liquid eyeliner and I also much prefer this to pencil eyeliners. It lasts well but also is easily removed with makeup remover.
Maybelline colour tattoo
I have really been loving the Maybelline colour tattoo eye shadows as last month I loved the colour 'on and on bronze' and this month I have been loving the colour 'pink gold'. Around the beginning of the month I was in boots picking up a few things and walked past the Maybelline makeup and couldn't resist not picking up another one of these eyeshadows, and pink gold stood out for me.
Vaseline
Quite a boring product but I love it. I have really dry lips and I am always trying to keep them as lovely as I can. Over the summer I did this with moisturising lip colours and balms, but as it is now Autumn the bright and coral lip colours are not the best to sport. So I have been loving how mositurising the vaseline is and it also gives my lips a glossy look.
Bourjois healthy balance powder
I love Bourjois products and this one is no exception! I have been wearing this over the top of my foundation as well as on it's own. When I want a light amount of makeup I just dust this over my face, and as it has colour to it, it gives me a light coverage. I also has a lovely fruity scent that isn't to powerful and disappears after a while.
So there are my September favourites. Do you have any of these products? I would love to know what your favourites have been this month.

Nails of the Day
The nail polish that I am wearing is called we're in it together by Essie. It is a lovely light pink with a glitter like shimmer throughout it. It isn't your typical autumn berry nail colour but I really love this nail polish and I think that it is so pretty. I think that this is a good nail polish for days when you want an easy to wear colour with that little something extra.
What do you think of this colour? Whats you favourite nail colour from Essie?

Cleaning Makeup Brushes
Cleaning brushes isn't the most fun thing to do, but it is very important. You should keep your brushes lovely and clean, just like with removing your makeup from your face you should also remove makeup from your brushes and tools. You may think that it isn't really important and that you can leave your brushes for a while before cleaning them, no, no, no this is very bad! You must remember that you use these tools on your face. Here are some reasons why cleaning your brushes is important.
- Clean brushes = clean makeup application. After you have cleansed your face ready to apply makeup you don't want to them apply nasty old makeup that was left in your brushes collecting horrible bacteria.
- You will find it so much easier to apply you makeup. As your brushes are lovely and clean your makeup will glide on much better than if there is old makeup clogging up the bristles.
- Your skin will be in better condition. One main nasty thing that dirty brushes can lead to are breakouts and spots! Also if you do have any blemishes or spots the next time you use your brush you aren't transferring that back onto your face.
- Your brushes will last longer. Taking care of your brushes means that they will last a lot longer and you won't have to fork out to replace your brushes so often.
Now there are two types of cleaning, spot cleaning and deep cleaning:
Spot cleaning is what you should do after each use. This is when I use my No7 brush cleanser, I fold a tissue in half and in half again then use one pump of cleanser and wipe my brush on the tissue until it looks like there isn't any makeup left. (There are also other brush cleanser by different brands.)
Deep cleaning is what you should do every week or every other week. You should definitely make sure that you deep clean your brushes every month. (How often you deep clean your brushes should depend on how often you use them, eg if you use them every day then you should really wash them at the end of each week.) This is when I would use the baby shampoo (there are also brush cleansers for this but baby shampoo works just as well and is a lot cheaper). You would rinse your brush in warm water, then take a small amount of shampoo (around the size of your thumb nail) and lather then rinse away with clean warm water, make sure that all the shampoo is gone then leave your brushes to dry. When leaving them to dry make sure that the bristles are tilted down so that the water doesn't seep into the join and loosen the glue holding the bristles in place.
So there is some hopefully helpful info on making sure that your brushes are lovely and clean! Do you have any useful tips on cleaning makeup brushes?

Friday Five
When a new season starts I always love looking around at all the lovely new things that come into the shops. I have already done an autumn wishlist of lovely clothes and accessories for autumn and today I have put together 5 of my favourite shoes for autumn.
These lace up shoe boots from New Look are great for autumn and keeping your feet warm. These are also great as an everyday shoe with added height. These also come in grey and black.
These lace panel heels from Miss Selfridge are so pretty and are great for dressing up an outfit or for wearing to an event.
First up are some very cute burgundy gem stud pumps from New Look. These are great for everyday wear and the gem studs add a little something extra.
These lace panel heels from Miss Selfridge are so pretty and are great for dressing up an outfit or for wearing to an event.
Boots are an Autumn must for keeping feet warm as the weather turns colder, and I really like these knee high boots from Miss Selfridge. They are quite expensive but a girl can dream!
Lastly another pair of boots, these high heel boots from Zara are such a lovely colour. They are simple and elegant however they are on the expensive side but like I said a girl can dream!
I hope you like these and maybe given some inspiration. Which is your favourite out of the 5?

Book Review
I thought I would do a slightly different post today and talk about a book. I have recently finished this book by Sophie Kinsella called 'I've got your number'. I really love the shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella so when I saw this book by her I thought I would give it a read.
It is a really lovely book and like the reviews on the back a funny read. It didn't take me long at all to read, and this is because I would read many chapters in one go as I always wanted to know what was going to happen next! I would really recommend this book to anyone who loved the shopaholic books or any other of Sophie Kinsella's books.
Have you read this book?

Autumn Wishlist
Well it is now the start of autumn and that means bringing out the autumn wardrobe. So of course I have been browsing online and looking at autumn wear! I have put a few pieces together into a wishlist to share with you, and maybe give some autumn inspiration.
So first up I found this lovely scarf in Topshop. You always need a scarf when the weather get colder and I really like this one as it is something different but can still be worn with a lot of things.
Next up this beautiful clutch from Accessorize. This over sized clutch is perfect for autumn. It is neutral coloured so will go with plenty of different outfits.
Last on the accessories are these very cute hedgehog socks from New Look. When the weather is colder you want to keep your feet warm and what better way than decorated socks!
I really like berry coloured cloths for this time of year and really like this skirt from River Island. I would wear this skater skirt with some tights for the perfect autumn look.
Last up this lovely playsuit from Topshop. This is great for autumn as it has long sleeves and can be paired with tights.
So there are a few of my autumn picks. What items have you been loving for autumn?

Bourjois Smokey Eye Trios
I really love the make up that Bourjois has and these eye trios are wonderful. They are great for creating a simple, quick and easy smokey eye look. The colours are easy to apply and blend to give a lovely well polished look. These are great for traveling or just popping into your bag as they are small and compact and includes all the shades you need instead of carrying around a big pallet. They also have applicators that are really nice to use and I prefer to use these than my brushes when using the trios. Another thing I love about these is that they are so easy to use, so even if you aren't the best at appling eyeshadows you needn't worry about smokey eye looks anymore. I have three of the sets of colours so far but I feel that my collection will defiantly grow!
This first trio is a lighter brown in '03 mordoré', and I love this for an everyday eye look. It is also good for an event if you wanted something a bit more subtle on the eyes. I really like using the darkest brown along my lower lash line instead of eyeliner for a softer look.
This is a lovely dusky pink colour in '05 rose vintage'. I like to wear this one on days when I want a softer younger colour. The darkest colour is very pigmented and can be built up really well to create a more party look without it looking to dramatic.
The last one I have is in '06 violet romantic' , and is a lovely dark purple, blue colour. This is great for a more dramatic look, for parties or events. I also like wearing this during the day when you want to add an extra pop to your make up without it being to much.
Have you ever tried the Bourjois trios? What is your favourite colour?

Maybelline Mini Haul
Boot and Superdrug both recently had a 3 for 2 on make up. It was a perfect time for me to get 3 products that I have wanted to try. All 3 are eye products including a mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow.
First up is the lasting drama gel liner. As I am on a search for the perfect eyeliner I thought that I would see what this one was like. (If you have any suggestions for a great eyeliner I would love to know about them!) I got it in the colour brown as this it isn't as bold as black and gives a subtle look. It also comes with it's own brush.
If you have read my August favourites then you will know that I love this eyeshadow. It is a cream eyeshadow that I just apply with my ring finger onto my eyelid. It lasts all day and doesn't crease at all. I have the colour 'on and on bronze' which is a lovely darker golden brown, and a great everyday eye colour.
Last but not least I got the mega plush volume express mascara. It says that it is a gel-mousse formula and won't leave your lashes flaky or brittle. I really like this mascara and when I have worn it my lashes haven't felt stiff and the mascara hasn't flaked off. If you want to apply more than one coat it is best to do so before the mascara dries. I would say that this is a great everyday, daytime mascara.
So there are the products that I got. Do you have any of these products? What products have you been wanting to try?
