July Favourites

I can't believe how quickly this month has gone by. It seems to have flown by before my eyes! Anyway the last day of the month means a favourites post! I haven't worn a lot of makeup this month as the weather has been so warm, and as you may know I don't like to wear a lot of makeup in the warmer months. The products in my favourites this month are actually also the products I have been using for my everyday make up look!

Essie - French Affair I have been loving this pretty shade on my nails. This month I decided to give my nails a break from polish and mainly concentrated on nail care, so at the end of the month I was excited to paint my nails in this pretty pink! You can see this polish on my nails here.

Clinique Cheek Pop - Peach Pop This is the best blush I have ever used! It is just so pretty! I have the colour peach pop and it is such a beautiful natural blush and I have been loving swiping this across my cheeks to add some extra colour. I love the flower pattern and the packaging to this blush as well! If you want to know more I have a post on this blush here.

The Balm - Mary-Lou Manizer This is my most recent beauty buy. The only other highlighter I have is a mini highbeam from Benefit and although I really like it I wanted to try a powder highlighter, so when I saw it on an offer on feel unique I decided to get it! This highlighter is very pigmented so you only need a little amount to get a really pretty highlight. It is quite 'glittery' but not too much that you look like a disco ball! I also love how easy it is to work with. I like to sweep a little over my cheek bone and under my brow arch.

Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner - Black I am not the biggest lover of eyeliner and have had trouble finding a product that I like. However I'm determined to find one I like so I carried on with my search and in comes Eyeko liquid liner. At first I didn't really like it, but I stuck with it and now I have got used to it and find it a really lovely product to use. It is so easy now to draw a perfect straight line and flick (although I still need a bit more practice to get the flicks looking the same)!

Benefit Gimme Brow - Medium/Deep Gimme brow has become a firm favourite for me (might even be holy grail)! I just love how quick and easy it is to use. It gives wonderful natural looking brows and stays in place all day! This is such a great product for everyone to use, even those that are new to makeup or not confident about brows! If you want to know more I have a post here

Have you tried any of these products? What have been your favourites this month?

Nails of the Day

For today's nails I decided that I wanted to paint my nails pink but didn't just want to have a plain block colour so I used a sparkle top coat. I used Essie's 'french affair' and ' sparkle on top'. It is a bit difficult to see the sparkle top coat in the photo above but it looks so lovely in real life and when the sun catches on the nail it shows up well and looks so pretty.

What colour nail polish are you wearing at the moment?

I created a wish list of 5 things that I have spied in the shops and online.

My top 5 organisation tips and sharing tips on ways I find helpful for keeping organised.

I have put together my top 5 favourite flamingo inspired items. So if you are a fellow flamingo lover then this post is for you!

I really enjoy baking and trying new recipes so I put together 5 recipes I would like to try.

Clinique Cheek Pop

Today I am going to be sharing my thoughts on one of the Clinique cheek pop blushes. When these blushes were released I knew I had to try them! From the reviews on this being one of the best blushes out there to the fact that they are the prettiest blushes ever, how could I not try it!

First up i'm going to talk about the colour. There are 4 different shades, ginger pop, peach pop, berry pop and plum pop. I chose the shade peach pop. When I went to the Clinique counter the assistant there helped me choose the shade and after seeing what they looked like on I decided I liked peach pop the best. They are all really pretty, wearable shades and there are shades for all skin tones. The colour can be built up really well and you can easily create a natural look.

The blush is really easy to apply and can be built up well. It lasts really well throughout the day and has a lovely silky feel to it. It is a good blush for all skin types and doesn't cling onto dry skin. I also really love the beautiful flower pattern to the blush. It is almost too pretty to use! However once I used it I just keep reaching for it, it is just too good a blush not to use! I can also reassure that the flower pattern does last as I have used the blush a lot and the pattern is still there!

To sum up I love this blush! From the packaging and pattern to the shade and formula. For me it is the best blush I have ever used and really recommend it! This is now one of my top favourite makeup products and if I only want to wear a small amount of makeup I love to sweep this over my cheeks for a beautiful natural pop of colour.

Have you tried this blush? What is your favourite blush?

Blogging Tips / Clickable Blog Link

I have been blogging for over a year now and throughout that year I have learnt many new things. One of the things that I have learnt is how to leave a clickable blog link. It is really simple when you know how to do it and is also a great way for other people to easily navigate over to your blog!

Your blog link in comments will go from this:

to this:

On to how to do this! Firstly open up a word document (or note gadget), this makes creating the link a lot easier, and it is also saved somewhere so you just have to copy and paste it each time you want to use it instead of typing it out each time!

Now just copy and paste or type out the link below into your document/note.

<a href="YOUR BLOG LINK HERE">YOUR NAME HERE</a>

Now that you have the link you need to replace the YOUR BLOG LINK HERE text with your blog link and the YOUR NAME HERE text with your name or your blogs name. I have shown below how I did this for my blog link. After you have done this don't forget to save the document!

Congratulations you now have a clickable blog link! Why not test it out by leaving a comment below! Just a quick side note, please make sure that you leave a proper comment on blogs and not just your link. People don't really appreciate it and would much rather have a genuine comment, other readers are also more likely to click on your link if you have left a proper comment too!

I hope that this has helped you and if you know of someone that would find it useful send them over too! I would love to know how you got on and if you found this helpful!

The Summer Tag

I have seen a few different summer tag posts on a lot of blogs recently so I thought it would be a fun post to do! As there are so many different different summer tags I have decided to put together a few questions of my own.

Favourite summer fragrance
I love the L'Occitane Citrus Verbena Summer Fragrance! I really like citrus scents and this one from L'Occitane is so pretty to wear at this time of year. I have a full post on it here is you want to know a bit more about it.

Favourite summer food / drink
My favourite food would probably be strawberries and raspberries I really like eating fresh berries in the summer and really enjoy going fruit picking. My favourite drink would be homemade lemonade, there is nothing better than making your own lemonade and I think it always tastes better when you have made it yourself!

Favourite summer accessory / clothing item / shoes
I really love wearing dresses in the summer time, there are always so many pretty dresses in the shops and I just can't resist getting them! I also love wearing pretty hair accessories, I really like bows and flower clips and at the moment I am loving scrunchies! Shoe wise I like to wear strappy heals .

Favourite summer nail look
I love trying out different summery nail art designs. I have shared a couple on my blog, a sunshine design and a strawberry design

Go to skincare product
I really like Simple's kind to skin + protecting moisture cream. It is a moisturiser with SPF 30 and UVA and UVB protection. It is the perfect product for summer as it is so important to wear sun protection. This one is also great as it doesn't feel heavy or tacky on the skin.

Go to beauty product
My go to summer beauty product would of course be sun cream as it is so important to protect your skin. But sun cream aside it would have to be bronzer. A quick brush of bronzer helps to add that golden glow and of course in summer you want to have a sun kissed look!

Go to summer hairstyle
When the weather gets warmer I prefer to have my hair up and out of the way, so my go to hairstyle would be a messy high ponytail. It is such a quick hairstyle and can be easy accessorized by adding a hair clip or using a fun patterned scrunchie.

Go to makeup
In the summer I prefer to wear less makeup and opt towards products that are longer lasting. My main go to makeup includes: Benefit POREfessional, Benefit fake up concealer, Benefit hoola bronzer, Benefit gimme brow, Maybelline colour tattoo eyeshadows, Maybelline the rocket waterproof mascara and a lip balm or Clinique chubby stick.

I had fun creating these questions and answering them, and hope that you enjoyed reading them too! If you would also like to do this tag you are very welcome to, but if you do please link back to my blog and of course don't forget to send me the link to it as I would love to read your answers!

Top Summer Picks / Collab Post

For today's post I am collaborating with Love & Blog. We are sharing our top summer picks including our 3 top makeup products and 3 top nail polishes for summer. So be sure to go and have a read of her post too!

My top 3 makeup products are:
Rimmel hide the blemish concealer, I like to use a concealer to cover any imperfections as in the summer months I prefer to wear a light base or no foundation.
Benefit the POREfessional, is another favourite for when I want to go 'bare faced' as it smooths out my skin and also if I do wear a base it keeps it in place for a lot longer!
Maybelline colour tattoo, these eyeshadows are perfect for summer, simple and quick to apply and stay in place all day.

My top 3 nail polishes are: No7 stay perfect polish in duck egg, Nails inc gel effect in Downtown, and Essie's Fiji. I really like wearing brighter colours in the warmer months so this blue and bright pink polish are my go to shades. Then on days when I want a softer nail colour Fiji is the perfect pale pink for the job!

What are your favourite makeup and nail products for Summer?

Nails Of The Day

Hello there! For today's nails of the day I have gone back to an old favourite brand, Rimmel. Rimmel nail polishes were the first polishes that I started collecting and were there with me when my love for nail polish started! I really liked Rimmel's polishes as there was a good range of colours, good formula and also a good price! However after my recent Friday Five post I realized that I haven't really used any Rimmel polishes lately. So when wandering the aisle's of boots I decided to have a look at Rimmel's polishes again. That was when this polish caught my eye. It is the shade '203 - lose your lingerie' and is a soft baby pink with a slight shimmer to it. In fact I think it is quite a similar shade to Essie's Fiji, so if you are looking for a dupe for that polish then give this one a go!

Have you tried any of the Rimmel polishes?

Benefit Beauty Score Kit

Benefit cosmetics have amazing products, however being a high end brand their prices mean having to save up quite a bit of money to try out their products. That being said one of the things that I love about Benefit is that they create kits with mini versions of their products to try for less! So when I saw that they had released this beauty score kit I was so excited especially seeing as it included products that I love and products that I haven't tried yet but have wanted to!

Anyway onto the products that are included!
Benetint - is a rose tinted lip and cheek stain. I haven't tried any of the 'tints' before but they have been on my list of products to try out! I am hoping that I will get along with this product on my lips as I don't like the 'heavy' feel that lipstick has. It is also a good cheek product for the summer that will hopefully last longer than powder in the heat!

Highbeam - is a liquid highlighter. I have tested this before and have been really impressed. I am really loving highlighters at the moment so this is a perfect addition to my makeup routine!

Stay don't stray - is a primer for your eyes. It is said to prime and keep your eyeshadow and concealer in place. It can also be worn alone for a natural makeup look.

Ooh la lift - is an under eye brightener. This product has caught my eye and I am really interested in trying it out. It is said to instantly brighten up your eyes and give them a wake up boost!

POREfessional - is a primer that minimizes the appearance of pores. I love this primer! It smooths out the skin and creates a good base for makeup. It is also featured in this post if you want to know a bit more about it.

That girl - is a brightening face primer that is said to smooth and brighten your skin. I am looking forward to seeing what this is like working with other products to hopefully create gorgeous glowing skin!

It's potent - is a brightening eye cream. I have got this eye cream and will soon run out so this little pot should keep me going for a while. I really like this eye cream it helps hydrate my under eye and it does brighten any dark circles. After using this eye cream a couple of times I was told that my under eyes looked much brighter, well done Benefit!

Hoola - is a matte bronzing powder. It is the number 1 best selling bronzer for 5 years, and I can see why! It is the perfect bronze colour, it isn't orange and doesn't look 'muddy'. It works great with my very pale skin and helps add some colour. It also blends well into the skin and doesn't leave you with bronze stripes on your face!

Bella Bamba - is a watermelon coloured blush. This blush has been discontinued by Benefit so I am excited to get to try it! It is a watermelon colour with a little gold shimmer in it. I think it is a great colour for the summer time.

They're real - is a false lash look mascara. It is another best selling product by Benefit and loved by many! It adds length, separates lashes and gives a wow effect! My favourite thing about this mascara is the wand, it has a little ball on the end that helps separate lashes and it even covers those difficult to get lashes. It is also featured in this post if you want to know a bit more.

All in all I am really impressed with this kit and can't wait to test out different makeup looks with them!
Have you got this kit? Which of these products is your favourite?
